The telehandlers we hire

Telehandler specs come down to two numbers: maximum lift capacity (tonnes) and maximum lift height (metres) — though never both at once, as capacity reduces along the load chart as the boom extends. We match the machine to the job:

  • 3t / 7m — materials handling on smaller residential and refurb builds.
  • 5t / 10m — mid-rise commercial work, placing palletised materials at height.
  • 4t / 17m — larger commercial and infrastructure sites where reach and height matter.
  • Compact telehandlers — for restricted-access and confined sites, trading height for manoeuvrability.

With the right attachment a telehandler does far more than lift pallets. We can supply pallet forks, man baskets, winch attachments, concrete placing skips and truss booms to extend what the machine handles on site.

Rough-terrain machines built for Manchester sites

Most construction sites across Greater Manchester need a rough-terrain telehandler – four-wheel drive with oscillating axles to cope with muddy, uneven ground, particularly through the wetter months. Where space is tight, a compact machine keeps you working without tearing up the ground. Tell us the site conditions and we’ll spec the right machine first time.

Operated or self-drive telehandler hire

A 3t / 7m telehandler is typically £200 to £300 per day self-drive, with longer hires moving onto weekly rates. Operated hire adds the cost of a CPCS operator. Our guide to telehandler hire costs in Manchester sets out what changes the figure.

Hire self-drive if your team holds the right CPCS or NPORS card for the telehandler class and is insured to operate it. Or take operated hire and put one of our experienced, CPCS-qualified operators on your site. For principal contractors managing complex programmes, operated hire removes the burden of sourcing, vetting and managing operators — and because we’re a civils contractor first, our people work groundworks, excavation and lifting day in, day out, including on sites across Manchester city centre, Salford Quays and Trafford Park.

LOLER-compliant, certificated on every hire

Every telehandler lift is a lifting operation under LOLER (the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998). Each machine we supply carries a valid thorough-examination certificate typically renewed every six months and is serviced, fully insured and PUWER compliant, with inspection certificates provided as standard. For a main contractor, that means plant that won’t hold up a site induction or an audit.

Fast delivery across Greater Manchester

We deliver throughout Greater Manchester, Manchester city centre, Salford, Trafford, Stockport, Bolton, Wigan, Oldham, Rochdale, Bury and Tameside with same-day and next-day availability subject to stock. We’re based in Bury (BL9 8QG), so plant for Salford, Salford Quays and the wider North West is rarely more than a short run away. Local delivery keeps your costs down and your machine on site fast.

Telehandler hire across Greater Manchester and the North West

We deliver telehandlers to sites in Wigan, Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport, Salford and Bury, and run further out to Blackburn and across the North West where the programme justifies it. Delivery is same or next day across Greater Manchester, and we will confirm a slot when you call rather than leaving it open.

Want to know what telehandler hire costs in Manchester ?

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday09:00 – 17:00

What size telehandler do I need?

It depends on the load and the height. As a guide: 3t / 7m for smaller residential and refurb builds, 5t / 10m for mid-rise commercial, and 4t / 17m where you need real height and reach. Tell us the heaviest lift and the working height and we’ll confirm the right class.

How does lift capacity and reach work?

A machine rated 3t / 7m lifts three tonnes and reaches seven metres — but not at the same time. Capacity drops as the boom extends, following a load chart every operator must work to. We’ll help you spec against your actual loads.

Do I need a LOLER certificate?

The machine does. Every telehandler we supply comes with a current thorough-examination certificate as standard — always confirm this is in place before any machine arrives on site, from any hirer.

Do I need a CPCS card to operate it?

Operators must hold a relevant CPCS or NPORS card for the telehandler class. It’s the hirer’s responsibility to ensure operators are qualified — or take our operated hire and we’ll provide the operator.

Can you deliver same-day?

Subject to availability, yes — same-day and next-day across Greater Manchester, including city centre, Salford, Trafford, Stockport, Bolton, Wigan, Oldham, Rochdale and Bury. Call 0161 766 2612 for a same-day check.

What attachments are available?

Pallet forks, man baskets, winch attachments, concrete placing skips and truss booms, depending on the machine and the task.
